Procurement upstream and downstream functions fall under this position nationwide. This position is responsible for purchasing and negotiating materials, equipment, and supplies from vendors. Evaluates vendor quotes and services to determine most desirable suppliers. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Forecast likely levels of demand for services, products and/or component parts to be used in any manufacturing process. Analyze expenditure, strategize sourcing, vendor qualification, assist in negotiations and execute supply agreements as required. Execute purchase orders, and payment processing follow-up.
Ensure and standardizing procurement business processes and practices follow company policies and regulations.
Promote synergies, encourage quality and innovation, ensure transparency, facilitate accountability, and offer efficient service. Ensure the understanding of the needs of Gruma s internal users through processes and systems that guarantee efficient communication, empathy, collaboration, and proactivity. Develop strategic relationships with the best suppliers that offer us catalogs of products and services at the best cost. Performs other duties as assigned.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCEBachelor's degree and 5-8 years of purchasing experience in a related field.* Any equivalent combination of related education and/or experience may be considered for the above. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES Experience in contracting processes and associated local, state, federal, and other regulations. Skills in examining and re-engineering operations and procedures, formulating policy, and developing and implementing new strategies and procedures. Experience analyzing trends. Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) Familiar with Food Safety and Occupational Safety
Ability to use independent judgment and to manage and impart confidential information. Excellent negotiating skills, able to be driven with passion and enthusiasm.
Strong computer skills. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing Bilingual English and Spanish strongly preferred.
