Manager, Solutions Architecture

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for experienced and motivated technical managers to lead, coach, grow, and partner with our technically skilled, customer-facing Solution Architects. This role is based in Austin TX, Seattle WA or Arlington VA, where you will lead a team of early-career Solutions Architects, developing the industry’s best technical advisors. You will enable and coach best practices for solution selling, presentation skills, and building value-driven cloud architectures of varying size and complexity. In collaboration with sales, you will enable business outcomes across a broad set of customers. You will help team members ramp-up on AWS as well as develop speaking, writing, presentation, and executive interaction skills. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS- 4+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience- 2+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience- Technical Degree (Computer Science, Math, Engineering or equivalent) and/or relevant tech experiencePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS- Knowledge of cloud native design patterns, DevOps practices and AWS services- Experience leading and growing teams of technology professionals, ideally in customer facing roles- Public speaking experience or passion for creating technical content- 3+ years of experience in working as Solutions Architect or a similar customer facing role- Experience architecting, migrating, transforming or modernizing customer requirements to the cloudAmazon is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace. The base pay for this position ranges from $130,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $224,700/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
