JOB SUMMARY: Serve as part of a team responsible for change and deployment activities of Charter's Out-of-Home WiFi, 5G Core, Community Solutions, and Enterprise Wireless Core Operations. Configure change and new element deployments for the product lines. Design, implement, monitor, enhance, and troubleshoot telecommunications systems in assigned areas. Provide engineering technical leadership and guidance to regional personnel and ensure all technical integration, changes, standards, and documentation are met. Test and review system designs. Analyze and revise existing system logic difficulties and documentation. Develop MOP (Method of Procedures) to modify or implement configuration changes, including building workflows and processes. Review new requests for completeness from requesting teams. Implement MOPs using the approved Change Management process. Participate in on-call rotation to support overnight implementation activities. Responsible for documenting MOPs needing revision. Schedule implementation activities as required by project or product line. Utilize Confluence software (Chalk & JIRA) to capture job knowledge. Develop project status reports as needed. Review work plans and designs and advise on improvements. Mentor and guide the work of technical staff. Employ knowledge of industry specifications, including IEEE, ANSI, and Fiber. Design and configure network systems utilizing Bridging, Switching, Routing, Ethernet, and Transport technologies and protocols. Work with network design, architecture, topology, and TCP/IP and OSI Model protocols in network devices and appliances using Cisco Firewalls and Wireless LAN Controllers, switches, and Ruckus vSZs. Support operations utilizing ticketing and software tools such as Remedy and Ruckus Network Director. Design networks using Visio. Route IP networks. Virtualize using VMware. Script with Python.
EDUCATION/REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology or related. 5 years of experience in the following: designing and configuring network systems utilizing Bridging, Switching, Routing, Ethernet, and Transport technologies and protocols; and working with network design, architecture, topology, and TCP/IP and OSI Model protocols in network devices and appliances using Cisco Firewalls and Wireless LAN Controllers, switches, and Ruckus vSZs; and supporting operations utilizing ticketing and software tools such as Remedy and Ruckus Network Director; and designing networks using Visio; and routing IP networks; and virtualizing using VMware. 1 year of experience scripting in Python. A hybrid office and remote work arrangement is available. Required to be on call 1 week per month.
