Technical Staff, Platform Architect

What you'll achieve

As a Technical Staff, Platform Architect, you will have the opportunity to collaborate on the architecture of next generation large scale AI Infrastructure including accelerated compute, AI fabrics and AI optimized storage. In addition to AI IT technologies, this role will leverage state-of-the-art rack and data center power solutions and innovative liquid cooling technologies. As part of an advanced technology pod, you will define long-term technology strategies utilizing information from CTO, marketing, development, manufacturing, procurement, customers and industry.

You will:
  • Engage with high profile customers/partners to drive innovation at the datacenter and platform level
  • Provide expertise on multiple technologies and shape future products
  • Participate in strategic internal and industry forums and be a point of escalation for critical development issues
  • Generate Intellectual Property including invention disclosures
  • Maintain multi-year roadmaps detailing feature trade-offs and host regular technology reviews to ensure roadmap and Dell business objectives alignment

Essential Requirements
  • 15+ years of related industry experience or equivalent skill
  • Solid understanding of computer architecture to include Central Processing Unit (CPU) accelerators, networking, storage and benchmarking
  • Ability to develop technical relationships with the vendor base for core technology or solutions to drive requirements into next generation vendor designs.
  • Experience identifying, developing and communicating differentiation opportunities and providing recommendations to marketing, procurement, engineering, customers and business executives
  • Ability to understand business needs while developing technical solutions; need to be able to travel 20%-30% to assess customer requirements and develop blueprints based on geographical area


Desirable Requirements
  • Experience with HPC clusters (high-performance compute), AI compute and storage platforms
  • Software experience


Compensation: Dell is committed to Fair and Equitable compensation practices. The Salary Range for this role in is $216,750.00 to $323,000.00.
