Overview The role of a Worker’s Compensation Manager is to ensure that employees injured on the job receive timely and appropriate medical treatment to allow them to return to work in a safe and healthy manner. Responsibilities Report workers’ compensation claims to the company’s workers’ compensation insurance. Maintain accurate and confidential workers’ compensation claim files. Recommend solutions to complex claims that may involve coverage and compensability disputes. Manage workers' compensation claim investigations, settlements and litigation. Serve as primary liaison for unemployment insurance carrier to manage unemployment claim costs. Serve as focal point of contact for employees with workers' compensation claims and assists with questions concerning workers' compensation claim submittal, case management, benefits, medical treatment, etc. Obtain and provide, where appropriate, authority for claim settlement or closure and communicates to legal representation and/or third party claims administrator (TPA). Build on workers’ compensation programs such as return to work, preferred medical provider organizations, etc. to reduce the cost of workers’ compensation claims. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or paralegal certification strongly preferred Minimum of 5 years of experience in workers' compensation law and/or management Some experience with managing unemployment claims Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, make decisions and manage time with multiple high-priority tasks Problem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Develops alternative solutions. Customer Service - Manages challenging situations; Responds promptly to internal and external customers Team Work - Balances team and individual responsibilities; Exhibits objectivity and openness to others' views Quality Management - Looks for ways to improve and promote quality; Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness Cost Consciousness - Develops and implements cost saving measures Ethics - Works with integrity and honesty. Starting salary/wage for this opportunity: $82,324.46 to $109,765.95 Sunrun provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, a wellbeing program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays, and paid time off (PTO). Other rewards may include annual bonus eligibility, based on both company and individual performance, as well as short- and long-term incentives and program-specific awards.
