Staff Development Director (LVN) Qualifications:
  • Able to get approval of CMS 279 Instructor or Director of Staff Development Application with 90 days of employment CDPH unless deferred by CDPH
  • Develops, organizes and coordinates the Infection Control program per State and Federal guidelines
  • Proven ability to guard facility from potential infection hazards--preventing, identifying, and controlling
  • Ability to maintain surveillance reports on a weekly basis and tabulates information monthly
  • Experience maintaining an antibiotic stewardship program
  • Able to apply "current clinical standards of practice" in monitoring antibiotic usage
  • Experience reporting routinely to Quality Assurance committees, and Infection Control committees
  • Experience proving continuing education designed to strengthen the skills of all nursing staff
Staff Development Director(LVN) Responsibilities:
  • Implement educational programs and infection control training in the health center
  • Ensure nursing staff are aware of infection control policies and procedures and enforcing those standards
  • Hire, schedule, performance management, daily supervision with the shift charge nurses
  • Coach and counsel CNAs/RNA's for skilled nursing
  • Conduct health center orientation and maintaining compliance of employee records
  • Provide tracking and trending of Nosocomial and patients admitted with hospital infectionsLVN
