Position Title: Receptionist
Department/Section: Mount Elden Middle School
Supervisor: Principal

Hourly Rate: $18.50 - $19.25/hour (depending on experience).
Pay Grade: 31
Schedule: 40 hours/week; Monday - Friday; 10 month calendar. Benefits offered. Arizona State Retirement System eligible.

Position Posting and Information:
Seeking candidate who understands what it means to be the "first-impression" of our School and is bilingual in English/Spanish to best serve our population of students and families. The right candidate for this position will be committed to maintaining a positive and outgoing attitude and will warmly and promptly greet visitors/customers in person and on the phone (students, parents, community members, FUSD employees and staff, vendors). Training will be provided.

Summary of Function
This position is responsible for providing secretary and receptionist administrative support to the site administrative team; communicating information to students, parents, staff, and/or other district; ensuring compliance with financial, legal, and administrative requirements; and supporting the broad array of services provided to students, parents, instructional and support staff.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • High School Diploma or equivalent certification - required
    • College degree preferred
  • At least 3 years prior experience in similar role
  • Ability to deal effectively and positively with public, parents, staff and students
  • Previous experinece in a high-standard customer service environment preferred
  • Must be able to multi-task in a high traffic environment
  • Bilingual preferred


TYPICAL TASKS:
  1. Greet visitors and determine nature and purpose of the visit. Direct them to specific department/destination.
  2. Operate multi-line phone system, screen, or forward calls. Provide information, taking messages or scheduling appointments. Answer all incoming calls and direct to the appropriate individual or department. Answer basic questions and give requested directions or other information directly or by phone
  3. Greet and manage substitutes, check identification, and assist in providing information particular to our building. Sign-in sheet, IDs, etc. Find coverage for teachers who have not been assigned a sub. Prepare timesheets to compensate teachers that have worked on their prep. Notify the building administrator of all reassignments and shortages.
  4. Greet visitors coming into the office/building and direct them to the appropriate individual/department.
  5. Perform other duties as assigned, including but not limited to maintaining the copier, loading toner, and paper, and assisting if the machine malfunctions. Calling for maintenance or supplies.
  6. Order supplies for the front office, student passes/call slips and admit slips. (Paper is ordered by bookkeeper).
  7. Support in the preparation of bulk mailings, progress reports and grades.
  8. Send notification to outside vendors when there are any schedule changes
  9. Perform other duties as assigned.
