Are you a detail-oriented professional with a passion for construction and cost management?

Join our team at Schreder and Brandt. We are looking for a skilled Estimator to help us continue our growth and ensure accurate and competitive project bids.

Location: Central/Southern Idaho (Boise, Twin Falls, Hailey)
Position: Full-time
Salary: $65 - 80K DOE

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare accurate and detailed cost estimates for Civil Engineering Construction projects, including labor, materials, and equipment.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and proposals to determine the scope of work and project requirements.
  • Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids to ensure complete and competitive pricing.
  • Collaborate with project managers and clients to refine project scope and specifications.
  • Assess and manage project risks related to costs and provide recommendations for cost-effective solutions.
  • Maintain and update cost databases and templates for future projects.
  • Assist in the preparation of bid packages and presentations for bid deadlines .
  • Monitor project performance against estimates to ensure budget adherence.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience as a Construction Estimator, preferably for public works projects
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and processes.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • A degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is preferred but not required.
