We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Estimating Manager to join our team at William Charles Construction. As an integral part of our estimating department, you will be responsible for overseeing the electrical estimating process, ensuring efficient bid management and coordination among various teams.

This role involves enhancing estimating practices, managing personnel, and ensuring all team members possess the necessary skills and tools for successful project execution. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership abilities and effective communication skills, aligning departmental activities with company objectives and ensuring high-quality estimation output.

About the Role

As the Electrical Estimating Manager, you will be responsible for:

  • Managing the firm's estimating activities, including pre-bid attendance, bid management, cost databases, estimating software, and implementing/improving estimating practices.
  • Directing, planning, organizing, and coordinating estimating efforts.
  • Conducting/project meetings/huddles to communicate project requirements.
  • Establishing timelines and estimating goals for effective and timely submittals.
  • E nsuring effective communication and collaboration on estimates between all disciplines and parties.

You will work closely with the Preconstruction Manager to achieve departmental objectives and develop department protocols for best estimating practices. Additionally, you will review/approve bids, specifications, drawings, and contracts to proactively solve potential issues and assist with the identification and negotiation of time extensions as needed with clients.

About You

To succeed in this role, you should have:

  • Proven high-level construction estimating experience, along with leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Proven management experience, with a history of leading, teaching, developing, and mentoring others successfully.
  • Solid presentation skills and verbal/written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • An understanding of contractual requirements, conceptual estimating, design drawings, and project specifications.

You should also be familiar with industry-leading estimating software and have experience with risk assessment analysis and estimating abilities in multiple markets and geographic locations. A Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or equivalent progressive work experience is required, along with 7+ years of estimating on construction projects or 10+ years of experience in lieu of education.
