Staff Accountant

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Staff Accountant to join our clients finance team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and a passion for the food industry. This role is crucial in ensuring accurate financial reporting, compliance with regulations, and supporting overall financial health of the company.
- Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Manage AP and AR processes, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices, payments, and collections.
- Perform regular reconciliations of general ledger accounts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, providing variance analysis and recommendations.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements, preparing for audits and assisting with audit processes.
- Oversee inventory accounting, including tracking and reconciling inventory levels, costs, and variances.
- Monitor and analyze expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities and ensuring adherence to budgetary constraints.
- Conduct financial analysis to support decision-making, identify trends, and provide insights to management.
- Work closely with other departments, providing financial insights and support for various projects and initiatives.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the food industry or a related sector.
- Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel).
- Strong understanding of GAAP and financial regulations.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
