Job Title: Travel Respiratory Therapist

Tact Staff is seeking a skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team for a travel assignment in Hackensack, New Jersey.

Job Summary:

The Registered Respiratory Therapist will provide and administer all aspects of Respiratory Care Therapy and supportive equipment under the supervision of the Director of Respiratory Services, Technical Supervisor, Shift Supervisors, and in accordance with the Department Policy and Procedure Manual.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing respiratory therapy under medical direction, in the education, treatment, management, and diagnostic evaluation and care of patients in the hospital with deficiencies of the cardiopulmonary system.
  • Performing intubation assistance as well as ventilator set-up and management.
  • Gathering all necessary information to properly evaluate the patient's needs, including patient-specific disease education, testing, and consultations with other healthcare professionals.
  • Providing and documenting education to patients/caregivers based on identified needs in an understandable manner.
  • Adhering to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
  • Lifting a minimum of 5 lbs., pushing and pulling a minimum of 5 lbs., and standing a minimum of 1 hour a day.

Education and Certifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Graduate of an accredited program in Respiratory Therapy.
  • BLS - AHA.
  • ACLS.
  • PALS.
  • Current and valid New Jersey Respiratory Care license.
  • Current and valid New Jersey Registered Respiratory Therapist.
