Role Descrition

Adaptive swim lessons use techniques that place emphasis on water safety and swimming skills modified or adapted to accommodate individual abilities, needs, and goals, regardless of age. Lessons are created for, but not limited to, those with anxiety, physical, sensory, communication or behavior challenges.

We provide all 1:1 swim instruction to our neurodivergent community that builds confidence and develops safety skills in a student-centered environment. We are committed to training our staff to teach swim lessons, giving them the tools they need to be successful. This is a diverse, inclusive and supportive workplace.

Lessons may include:(Requirements)

  • Pool entry and exit
  • Basic water safety skills
  • Independent swimming skills
  • Adaptive stroke techniques
  • Balance and core strength
We have a fun and rewarding work environment with a great atmosphere for someone who loves teaching and being around water. We offer paid training. Starting wage is negotiable with prior experience. This is a very flexible, part-time position that requires afternoon/evening and weekend shifts. Paid training is also included.

Qualifications:
  • Caring and compassion for children and adults
  • Ability to work in the water for periods of up to 5 hours
  • Experience working with children with a variety of special needs, specifically Autism
  • Great attitude and willingness to be coached

Compensation: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour

Located in the greater Seattle area, Nurturing Water Therapies is the leader in innovative and individualized therapeutic exercise and water safety skills for people of all ages with sensory, developmental, neurological, physical or other health challenges.

Member schools are independently owned and operated. Your application will go directly to the member school, and all hiring decisions will be made by the management of this school.
