Are you passionate about supporting individuals in building vibrant social connections and engaging in meaningful activities? Join our team at Community Access Services as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) in our Day Support Activities (DSA) program, where every day is an opportunity for growth, exploration, and community engagement.

As a DSP, you will be at the heart of helping individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) achieve greater independence and actively participate in their communities. You’ll create enriching experiences by organizing and supporting activities that align with their interests, ranging from recreational outings and arts and crafts to skill-building workshops and social events.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Engage individuals in community-based activities such as recreational outings, arts and crafts, and group events.
  • Support the development of social and life skills by facilitating interactive activities and promoting positive peer interactions.
  • Assist with daily living tasks when needed, such as meal preparation and personal care.
  • Help individuals identify and achieve personal goals, fostering self-confidence and independence.
  • Document progress, behaviors, and health status to ensure a supportive and safe environment.
Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is a plus, but not required—training will be provided.
  • Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient demeanor.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Must be able to pass a background check 
  • Capable of performing physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
