Direct Support Professional

At Community Access Services, we are seeking a dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our Day Support Activities (DSA) program. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) in achieving greater independence and actively participating in their communities.
Your primary responsibilities will include engaging individuals in community-based activities, such as recreational outings, arts and crafts, and group events. You will also support the development of social and life skills by facilitating interactive activities and promoting positive peer interactions.
In addition to these responsibilities, you will assist with daily living tasks when needed, such as meal preparation and personal care. You will also help individuals identify and achieve personal goals, fostering self-confidence and independence.
To be successful in this role, you will need to possess strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient demeanor. You will also need to be able to work independently and as part of a team, and be capable of performing physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is a plus, but not required—training will be provided.
- Strong communication skills and a compassionate, patient demeanor.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
- Must be able to pass a background check.
- Capable of performing physical tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs.
