Position Summary

The BSA Analyst will help coordinate the development, implementation, and administration of all aspects of the corporate-wide policy, procedures, and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Compliance Program. This position performs various quality control reviews and monitors areas of the Bank that have to maintain compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act, USA Patriot Act, Anti-Money Laundering, OFAC, and Customer Identification Program. The BSA Analyst will work with closely with the BSA Officer while using industry standard and regulatory guidance sampling methods to ensure the Bank's compliance efforts are maintained on a daily basis.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities
  1. Research daily BSA/AML alerts produced by the Bank's BSA/AML/Fraud software.
  2. Research daily OFAC/Watch List alerts produced by the Bank's BSA/AML/Fraud software.
  3. Review and approve daily OFAC/Watch List alerts from incoming front-line personnel.
  4. Research daily fraud alerts produced by the banks BSA/AML Fraud software.
  5. Use independent judgment when reviewing and analyzing alerts/reports to determine when further investigation is warranted.
  6. Prepare escalations for the case investigation team on any alerts found to be unusual or suspicious.
  7. Compare CDD/EDD behaviors on commercial accounts to BSA/AML software. Communicate with branch on any discrepancies and unusual activity.
  8. Perform ongoing monitoring, as required, of all high risk and medium risk accounts in accordance with the established monitoring schedule.
  9. Establish enhanced due diligence and monitoring efforts for new customers identified as high and medium risk.
  10. Review and analyze CIP documentation for all new accounts in preparation for quarterly and annual BSA external audits.
  11. Stay current with changes in BSA regulations
  12. Monitor email and extract data for compliance with the BSA, USA Patriot Act and the rules of OFAC.
  13. CDD/EDD pre-approval review. Review identified higher risk potential and existing customers.
  14. Review and conduct Google, RDC and OFAC searches on all individuals and entities on EDD packets.
  15. Provide support to frontline teams.
  16. May assist in maintaining BSA templates as needed
  17. Perform CIP, CTR and other audits related to BSA, AML and OFAC.
  18. May assist as back-up to CTR final review and submission team.
  19. May assist as back-up to the High-Risk Log Coordinator.
  20. Special Projects, as assigned.
  21. Assist with 314(a)-314(b) compliance.
  22. Meet daily production goals.
  23. Complete and/or attend all required training set for the by the BSA Officer and Bank.

Other Responsibilities
  • Support and promote the Bank's Vision, Mission, Core Values, organizational structure, policies, and procedures.
  • Comply with federal and state regulations as well as all established Bank policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications, Education and Experience Requirements
  • Minimum of five (5) years banking experience.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of Bank Secrecy Act experience.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to work with all levels of management and the Board of Directors.
  • Good organizational skills, strong judgment, and excellent time management.
  • Strong writing, word processing, and spreadsheet analysis skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal communication, and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership abilities.
  • Must have excellent communication, analysis, observation, and decision-making skills.
  • Highly focused and able to rapidly determine key priorities, clearly communicate priorities, and ensure resources are properly aligned.
  • Ability to work in high-pressure situations and a stressful atmosphere while remaining composed.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, which are necessary for maintaining effective relationships with Board members, officers, employees, and members of the business and civic community.
  • Ability to work independently as well as with others.
  • Capable of handling highly confidential information.
  • Must be able to be physically present in the Bank to perform job duties.
