Roles & Responsibilities: The Parsons Research Center for Psychedelic Healing (PRCPH) and the Division of Traumatic Stress Studies, joint projects of the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and the James J. Peters Veterans Affairs Medical Center (JJP VAMC), have an opening for a full-time clinical research coordinator to oversee day-to-day operations of research studies. Active and upcoming research studies include psychedelic-assisted psychotherapies for PTSD and trauma related disorders, generation of stem cells for in vitro investigations of molecular underpinnings of PTSD, and examination of biological changes associated with psychotherapy for PTSD. This is an excellent position for a recent college graduate who wants to obtain research experience in preparation for graduate or medical school In addition to the primary responsibilities listed below, there may be opportunity for a motivated individual to be involved in aspects of study design, grant preparation and/or scientific publications. Research coordinators may also have the opportunity to take on support staff roles at training and educational retreats. Research is conducted at the JJP VAMC in the Bronx, the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai on Manhattan’s Upper East Side, and at PRCPH in Morningside Heights. Subject to study needs, hybrid remote and on-site work may be possible. The initial post will be for 2 years with possibility for renewal. Qualifications Relevant Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Strong interpersonal and oral communication skills; the applicant must be comfortable interacting with patients and members of diverse populations Attention to detail, good proofreading skills Strong computer skills, including experience with Microsoft programs such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel Ability to work independently while keeping supervisors informed and consulting as needed Excellent organizational skills to balance multiple assignments and projects Enthusiasm and interest in learning about PRCPH’s work, learning new skills, finding ways to contribute Experience with SPSS and/or REDCap software is not necessary but would confer an advantage. Minimum Qualifications B.A. or B.S. in related discipline such as Psychology, Neuroscience, or related field at least 6 months of experience in human subjects research lab Responsibilities Primary Responsibilities: Recruit, screen, consent and track subjects Coordinate directly with subjects and study staff regarding data collection, including biological specimen collections, psychological evaluations, and self-report data Enter data and assist in the management of study databases and preliminary data analysis using SPSS, Microsoft Excel, REDCap, and Freezerworks Ensure appropriate study documentation Prepare, submit and monitor institutional review board (IRB) documents, regulatory paperwork, and grant applications Additional responsibilities will depend on the current needs of the research group, and may include assistance with study design, programming of tasks, and analysis of scientific data.
