Assistant Controller

Our client is a large Gov Con seeking an Assistant Controller to join their growing team.
This role is based in Northern VA.
Deltek Costpoint experience is required.
Responsibilities:
- Manage a team of 5+ across the different accounting functions, including Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, Payroll, and General Ledger
- Assist with the month-end and year-end close process
- Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting
- Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings
- Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Managing the accumulation and consolidation of all financial data necessary for an accurate accounting of consolidated business results
- Coordinating and preparing internal and external financial statements
- Coordinating activities of external auditors
- Assessing current accounting operations, offering recommendations for improvement, and implementing new processes
- Evaluating the effectiveness of accounting software and supporting database, as needed
- Developing and monitoring business performance metrics
- Overseeing regulatory reporting, frequently including tax planning and compliance and assist with audits including DCAA, Annual Financial Statements
