PHMC’s Intensive Behavioral Health Services (IBHS) Program is comprised of an array of services that are delivered to children and their families across settings (school, home and community) through a team oriented, evidence supported and trauma informed approach. Under the supervision of the IBHS Clinical Supervisor, the IBHS Clinician is responsible for providing direct clinical intervention to families and children as well as consultation to school personnel. The IBHS Clinician could provide MT and/or BC services as appropriate during non-traditional/flexible hours. IBHS Clinician will need to be available for day and evening hours as their caseload requires.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Completes assigned assessments (FBAs, data collection, interviews) for referred children within defined timeframes.
  • Develops a comprehensive Intensive Treatment Plan (ITP) and safety plan for each assigned child and family that are strengths based and developmentally appropriate.
  • Provides individual, group and family Evidenced Based Treatment to assigned children and families.
  • Provide weekly clinical supervision/observation to all BHTs on shared cases.
  • Provide clinical information to the evaluating psychologist/psychiatrist as required or requested.
  • Provides training and consultation to school personnel based on the BRIDGE model.
  • Integrates into school culture including participation in MTSS meetings and regular check ins with school leadership.
  • Facilitates consistent family engagement with parent/guardian around treatment planning, crisis planning, as well as collaborating/reporting updates to the IBHS team.
  • Participates in clinical supervision aligned with evidence-based treatment and state regulations.
  • Represents oneself and PHMC in a professional manner across all settings.
  • Participates in and completes all mandatory state, managed care and agency trainings.
  • Must function in full compliance with all applicable policies and procedures, federal state and local laws
  • Attend interagency meetings to coordinate design of treatment/behavior plan and services recommendations.
  • Collaborate with parents/guardians and treatment team identifying discharge planning and discharge planning goals for child(ren) and families
  • Provide feedback and coaching to parent/guardian as well as school personnel to ensure that behavior plan is understood and implemented properly.
  • Maintain on-going communication and collaboration with all team members.
  • Complete all necessary documentation related to client case including progress notes, assessments, treatment/behavior plans, case reviews, crisis plans and progress notes
  • Ensure compliance with PHMC policies and procedures including confidentiality and mandated reporting
  • Keep current with individualized training plan, licensure or any applicable certifications.
Staff Leadership
  • Fosters a strength based, trauma-informed, accountable, committed and motivated environment.
  • Establishes and holds direct reports responsible to create a climate that attracts, retains and motivates high performance.
  • Ensures the caliber of diverse staff with skills appropriate to meet the needs of those served.
  • Provides and holds staff responsible to complete staff performance evaluations as expected, provides constructive supervision for all direct reports including ongoing performance feedback.
  • Models PHMC’s core competencies holding staff accountable to do the same.
  • Mentors and develops direct reports to ensure a core team focused on meeting the priorities of the program.
Team Leadership
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively and efficiently with all internal and external stakeholders.
  • Cooperates and communicates as a multi-discipline staff team member through formal meetings, informal consultations and committee participation.

  • Demonstrates use and support of the trauma informed model in all aspects of employment, including interactions with clients/students, family members, other employees, community members, and stakeholders.
  • Responds promptly to the concerns and interests of the clients, parents, guardians, funding entities and other PHMC staff.
Partnerships and Collaborative Relationships
  • Establishes and maintains relationships with provider organizations, regulatory and licensing representatives, and referral sources, establishing effective and productive working relationships while promoting PHMC.
  • Represents the organization before various stakeholder groups to maintain visibility.
  • Manages regulatory and accreditation contracts.
  • Serves on, participates in and attends various committee meetings.
Contributing to the Team
  • Participates in regular meetings with staff to ensure priorities are clear, coordination is good, and communication is effective. Develops additional methods for ongoing effective communication.

Trauma Informed Behavior
  • Demonstrates commitment to being trauma informed and maintaining a therapeutic environment and community that promotes safety and nonviolence as the basis for all we do with clients and staff.
  • Demonstrates knowledge and utilization of trauma informed practices, including emotional intelligence, effective communication, understanding of impact of trauma on development, strengths based and person-centered practice, resilience focus and commitment to growth and change.
Administrative Activities
  • Ensures compliance with all PHMC’s policies and procedures, including confidentiality and acting as a mandated reporter in accordance with the law, policies, and procedures.
  • Implements all documentation requirements, reports are complete, thorough, timely, and follow prescribed format. Ensures staffs do the same.
  • Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS:

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION REQUIRMENT:

The IBHS Clinician who will be providing BC and MT services must meet one of the following:

  1. Be licensed in this Commonwealth as a behavior specialist.
  2. Have a certification as a BCBA or other graduate-level certification in behavior analysis that is accredited by the National Commission for Certifying Agencies or the American National Standards Institute.
  3. Have a graduate degree in ABA from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or have an equivalent degree from a foreign college or university that has been evaluated by the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. or the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services. The Department will accept a general equivalency report from the listed evaluator agencies to verify a foreign degree or its equivalency.
  4. Have a minimum of 2 years of full-time experience in providing mental health direct services to children, youth or young adults and a graduate degree in psychology, social work, education, or counseling from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or an equivalent degree from a foreign college or university that has been evaluated by the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. or the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services. The Department will accept a general equivalency report from the listed evaluator agencies to verify a foreign degree or its equivalency.
  5. Completed a clinical or mental health direct service practicum and have a graduate degree in psychology, social work, education, counseling or a related field from a college or university accredited by an agency recognized by the United States Department of Education or the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or have an equivalent degree from a foreign college or university that has been evaluated by the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. or the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services. The Department will accept a general equivalency report from the listed evaluator agencies to verify a foreign degree or its equivalency.


Individuals who provide behavior consultation services to children diagnosed with ASD for the treatment of ASD shall be licensed in this Commonwealth as a psychologist, professional counselor, marriage and family therapist, clinical social worker, social worker, behavior specialist, certified registered nurse practitioner or a professional with a scope of practice that includes overseeing the provision of ABA services.

Must have Valid Childline, PA Criminal History and FBI Clearances prior to commencing work.
