YOUR DAY AS A QUALITY SYSTEMS TECHNICIAN

You start your day as a Quality Systems Technician with our sustainable technology company by inspecting incoming materials and meticulously verifying critical dimensions and features. Each detail is documented and stored accurately. You're on it with an 8D investigation when non-conforming materials pop up during manufacturing. Customer complaints from the manufacturing process? Another 8D investigation to handle. Your role is crucial in ensuring proper documentation within the quality management system, CAQ, and reviewing and storing all in-process quality data. You take corrective actions if the first pass yield or throughput numbers aren't up to par. You support annual gauge calibration, ensuring cost-effective intervals. Incident reports, trend identification, and implementing corrective actions for near misses, medical treatments, and injuries are also part of your purview. Weekly and monthly safety audits of the shop floor and warehouse keep everyone safe, and you diligently enter new and update existing safety datasheets.

REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma with training in quality tools (5-Why, cause and effect, Pareto, histogram) and problem-solving tools (8D, PDCA, DMAIC), with knowledge of ISO 9001:2015
  • 3+ years of quality experience within a manufacturing environment
The following qualifications are preferred:
  • Strong print reading abilities- prefer knowledge of GD&T (geometric dimensioning and tolerancing)
  • Understanding of metrology tools and applications (test indicators, micrometers, calipers, gage blocks, and pins)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, with an emphasis on Excel
  • Basic understanding of local and federal safety requirements and regulations
