Job Title: Structural Steel Erection Estimator
Job Summary: We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Structural Steel Erection Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in estimating for structural steel projects and must be proficient in Tekla EPM estimating software. This role involves preparing accurate cost estimates, analyzing project specifications, and working closely with clients and project managers to ensure successful project planning and execution. Candidates residing in the local area may be eligible for flexible work settings after six months of employment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop accurate and detailed cost estimates for structural steel erection projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead.
- Utilize Tekla EPM estimating software to create, modify, and analyze estimates.
- Review and interpret project plans, specifications, and contract documents to determine project scope and requirements.
- Coordinate with engineers, architects, and clients to gather necessary information and clarify project details.
- Analyze and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitive pricing and compliance with project specifications.
- Prepare and present comprehensive bid proposals, including detailed cost breakdowns and project timelines.
- Maintain and update a database of pricing, labor rates, and material costs for reference in future estimates.
- Monitor project changes and adjustments, and provide updated estimates as needed.
- Collaborate with project managers and other team members to ensure estimates align with project objectives and budget constraints.
- Proven experience as an estimator for structural steel erection projects.
- Proficiency in Tekla EPM estimating software is required.
- Strong knowledge of structural steel construction techniques, materials, and industry standards.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex project specifications and blueprints.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with clients, subcontractors, and team members.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple estimates simultaneously.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating for structural steel erection or related fields.
- Demonstrated experience using Tekla EPM estimating software.
- Candidates residing in the local area will be considered for flexible work settings after six months of successful employment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Base salary is paid on experience in addition to profit-sharing bonuses
