Position Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic intern to join our team. As an intern, you will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced Supply Chain Professionals and Freight Brokers to support various projects and initiatives. This internship is designed to provide valuable real-world experience and professional development opportunities in your field.

Job Summary: As a Truckload Procurement Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and optimizing truckload freight procurement and analyzing freight data to enhance our operational efficiencies. You will work closely with our logistics team to ensure cost-effective decisions are made and will use analytics to inform procurement strategies and processes.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with truckload carriers to ensure capacity and service levels meet company requirements.
  • Negotiate contract terms and rates with carriers, focusing on cost reduction while maintaining quality service.
  • Utilize freight analytics tools to analyze transportation data and identify trends, cost-saving opportunities, and efficiency improvements.
  • Collaborate with the logistics and operations teams to integrate analytics insights into daily procurement practices.
  • Monitor market trends and carrier performance to adjust procurement strategies accordingly.
  • Manage freight contracts and agreements, ensuring compliance and addressing any issues that arise.
  • Provide regular reports on procurement metrics, market conditions, and project statuses to senior management.
  • Support the implementation of new logistics technologies and systems within the procurement process

Qualifications:
  • Enrollment for Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Prior experience in truckload freight procurement or logistics greatly preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with freight analytics or transportation management systems.
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, and any relevant logistics software.
