- Design and Improvement: Modify and enhance equipment, mechanisms, and tooling for new product and process development. Create detailed 3D solid models and ensure compliance with AMMO standards.
- Analysis and Testing: Use advanced software and methods (FEA, engineering formulas) to verify tooling and machine designs under various conditions. Apply knowledge of part forming to avoid design issues.
- Project Support: Assist in project planning, status updates, and fabrication/assembly of tooling and equipment. Provide maintenance and repair guidance to ensure optimal performance.
- Failure Analysis: Analyze tooling failures, recommend design improvements, and provide technical data for quotations and compliance.
- Collaboration and Development: Offer feedback on design feasibility, contribute to tooling and equipment development, and establish standards to improve tool manufacturing and performance.
- Engineering Support: Direct the Tool Design team, evaluate tooling options, and support the smooth integration of new work into production. Participate in continual improvement processes and follow EHS procedures.
Minimum Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering
- 1-2 years of engineering experience in metalworking or manufacturing automation.
- High mechanical aptitude and ability to visualize tooling and equipment configurations.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and project management skills.
- Proficient in math, problem solving, and detailed, accurate work.
- Experience in industrial settings preferred.
- Ability to establish effective relationships, influence change, and make quick, accurate decisions.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills and ability to read, write, and perform calculations.
