Quality Engineer

POSITION OVERVIEW
Quality Engineers on the Connected Ecosystem team are responsible for testing the integration of a wide variety of smart home devices within Alarm.com's ecosystem. This position has a strong focus on the functional testing of end-to-end systems, providing an excellent opportunity to engage with the full depth of our products, by working with software, firmware, and hardware.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Understanding the functionality and system architecture of the product under test
- Writing test plans and updating test documentation
- Manually testing features/products, tracking defects, and following them through to resolution
- Writing high quality bug tickets
- Analyzing logs and data to identify the root cause of issues
- Setting up and maintaining test environments and equipment
- Triaging urgent issues, prioritizing accordingly, and proposing resolutions
- Configuring, maintaining, and monitoring automation setups
- Assessing risk and determining subsequent test strategy
- Interacting with various stakeholders and other engineering teams to ensure the highest level of quality for the product under test
- Other duties as assigned
- 0-2 years of QA experience in an agile environment
- B.A. or B.S. in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or similar engineering program
- Ability to work across hardware, software, and network technologies
- Excellent problem solving and analytical skills, troubleshooting, and time management skills
- Ability to interpret complex technical information
- Process-oriented with ability to pay close attention to details
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently, raise issues and take corrective action
- Ability to make decisions based on test results to advise management and customers
- Team focused, with a proven track record of thriving in a collaborative environment
