Description

Position Overview: The Planning and Institutional Effectiveness Office is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented student worker to assist with various research and administrative tasks. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in data analysis, research methodologies, and the inner workings of higher education institutions. The student worker will support the PIE team in collecting, analyzing, and reporting data to inform decision-making processes at the institution.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Data Collection and Entry:
    • Assist in gathering data from various sources, including surveys, institutional databases, and external reports.
    • Accurately enter and update data in institutional research spreadsheets.
  • Data Analysis and Reporting:
    • Support the IR team in analyzing data using Excel
    • Assist in creating charts, graphs, and tables for data presentations and reports.
    • Help prepare summaries and reports of research findings for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Survey Administration:
    • Assist in the design and distribution of surveys to students, faculty, and staff.
    • Monitor survey responses and ensure data quality and completeness.
  • Administrative Support:
    • Provide general administrative support to the PIE team, including scheduling meetings, organizing files, and managing correspondence.
    • Assist in preparing materials for presentations, workshops, and meetings.
  • Special Projects:
    • Participate in special research projects as assigned, which may include literature reviews, benchmarking studies, and program evaluations.
    • Collaborate with other departments and offices on joint projects.
Qualifications:
  • Strong interest in data analysis, research, and higher education.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Requirements

MUST BE A CURRENT HCC STUDENT FOR THE FALL 2024 SEMESTER.

MUST BE ENROLLED IN AT LEAST 6 CREDITS.

UNLESS FIRST-SEMESTER STUDENT, MUST HAVE ATTAINED A 2.0 SEMESTER GPA DURING THE LAST SEMESTER ATTENDED.
