About the Desktop Support Technician Position

We are seeking a skilled and personable Desktop Support Technician to join our IT team at our Austin, TX location. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support to our employees, ensuring smooth operation of computer systems and equipment. An excellent Desktop Support Technician must have sufficient technical knowledge and be able to communicate effectively to understand the problem and explain its solution. They must also be customer service oriented. **

Desktop Support Technician Responsibilities
  • Provide technical support to end-users, resolving hardware, software, and network issues in a timely manner

  • Install, configure, and maintain desktop hardware and software systems.

  • Complete remote troubleshooting through diagnostic techniques and pertinent questions

  • Discover the best solution based on the issue and details provided by customers

  • Collaborate with IT team members to troubleshoot and resolve complex technical problems.

  • Maintain accurate documentation of support activities and procedures by providing detailed information on IT requests

  • Record events and problems and their resolution in logs

  • Follow-up and update customer status and information

  • Deliver training and support to end-users on technology-related topics

  • Identify and suggest possible improvements to procedures

IT Help Desk Technician Requirements
  • 2-4 years experience as a Desktop Support Technician

  • Tech savvy with working knowledge of office automation products, databases, computer systems, mobile devices, and other tech products

  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Impeccable attention to detail

  • Organized and Task Oriented

  • Ability to diagnose and solve basic technical issues

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Customer-oriented and cool-tempered

  • BSc/BA in IT, Computer Science or relevant field
