About the Organization

Senior Resource Association (SRA) is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization that provides services to support and advocate for independence and dignity of older adults throughout Indian River County. Our organization was established in 1974 to provide services and programs that promote an active, healthy, and independent lifestyle for older adults. We provide and manage the Meals on Wheels of Indian River County programs, Adult DayAway programs, In-Home Services, and Transportation for seniors and their families. With two locations in Vero Beach and Sebastian, SRA operates the only state-licensed Adult DayAway programs in the County. Our goal is to keep seniors healthy and in their own homes for as long as safely possible. Due to memory loss, brain injury, food-insecurity, and/or lack of socialization, all families have a special need for their loved one that leads them to Senior Resource Association. SRA is recognized as the lead agency in Indian River County for homebound and community-based services for seniors and adults aged 18 and older.

In addition, SRA is the county-designated public transportation provider. Our fixed-route buses provide service along 15 routes throughout Indian River County, and part of St. Lucie County. Our demand-response service picks up the elderly and disabled at their specified origination point and takes them where they need to go in the community.

Primary Function: Development Database Specialist manages the organization’s fundraising data using the Raiser’s Edge database. This role plays a crucial part in maintaining accurate donor records, processing donations, and supporting the organization’s development efforts through effective data management and reporting.

Principal Responsibilities: These are examples of the type of work performed. Management reserves the right to add, modify, change or rescind work assignments as needed

  • Maintain and manage the Raiser’s Edge database to ensure accurate and up-to-date donor records, including contact information, demographics, relationships, manage duplicates, record merges, and regular data clean up.
  • Process all gifts and donations, including data entry, gift coding, and generating acknowledgement letters and pledge reminders in a timely manner; scan letters and reminders into donor records.
  • Process and complete matching gift applications.
  • Generate various reports and queries from the database to support fundraising campaigns, donor stewardship, and financial reconciliation.
  • Provide lists for enews, mailings and solicitations for staff and print/direct mail vendors.
  • Produce donor lists for relevant publications as requested.
  • Collaborate with the development team to provide data analysis and insights for strategic planning and decision-making.
  • Assist in implementing and maintaining data management policies and procedures to ensure data integrity and security.
  • Data entry of community publications, including annual reports, programs, residential directories, etc.
  • Provide training and support to staff on database use, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing data entry processes.
  • Stay informed about industry best practices and updates related to Raiser’s Edge and fundraising data management.
  • Assist with development activities and fundraising events as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of fundraising principles and practices, particularly in a nonprofit environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record keeping.
  • Proficiency in generating and interpreting reports from databases.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and independently manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • May require occasional evening and weekend availability.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent computer skills and knowledge of professional office procedures.
  • Proven experience working with Raiser’s Edge or similar fundraising CRM/database (e.g., Salesforce NPSP). (Preferred)
  • Certification in Raiser’s Edge or other fundraising databases. (Preferred)
  • Experience with gift processing and acknowledgement letter generation. (Preferred)
  • Familiarity with SQL or other query languages for database reporting. (Preferred)

Pay Range: $16.75- $22.00 hourly/ non-exempt
