Description

The Rochester Athletic Club's Youth Programming team is seeking candidates for a full-time Assistant to the Director. The position requires approximately 32-40 hours per week availability; some flexibility as well as evening and occasional weekend hours are needed.

The Youth Programming Assistant helps to develop, guide, and oversee a staff of 50-60 part-time associates providing supervision and programming for Rochester Athletic Club youth and families. The successful applicant is a passionate, dynamic leader responsible for clear communication and the development of a customer-oriented team. This Assistant provides assistance in managing all aspects of The Neighborhood, Kids Club and Summer Camps which include: birthday parties, summer camps, departmental programs, staff scheduling, services and the daily operations.

A qualified candidate is at least a high school graduate (or equivalent) and will promote, develop and lead by example in creating a positive working environment with staff, members, and guests.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES
  • Planning, organizing, and overseeing activities/events as assigned that occur in all the departments (classes, camps, birthday parties, date nights etc.).
  • Assisting with curriculum creation and implementation for programs, events, birthday parties, camps, or as directed.
  • Administration: compiling documents, spreadsheets, making phone calls, emails, checking voice mails, scheduling staff, seeking and securing staff substitutions etc.
  • Providing a positive member experience for all RAC members and guests.
  • Interacting collegially and positively with directors and/or associates from other departments.
  • Performs duties as required of all RAC youth programming staff as well as maintaining a respected and effective leader.
  • Enforcing club policies/guidelines including, but not limited to: uniforms, work substitutions, schedule requests, payroll and SmartHR etc.
  • Assisting with marketing all youth programming: examples digital displays, newsletter, website, social media, Precor equipment, posters, RAC calendar.
  • Flexible in personal work schedule.
  • Other responsibilities as needed.
