Position Summary

This is a POOL position. Application materials for this position accepted on an on-going basis due to increasing demand.

Federal Work Study - Community Service requires enrollment as a student at MCC for employment throughout the semester(s). The work study program is based on financial need and eligibility is determined by filling out the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The Federal Work Study - Community Service program provides need-based funds for students to earn money while working at an approved off-campus site part-time that is related to their academic educational program or career goals. F-1 students are not eligible for work study positions that are paid through federal financial aid.

Available Student Worker Positions

Student Assistant:
Perform clerical and administrative duties, including but not limited to:
  • Filing paperwork
  • Answering office phones
  • Greeting students and visitors
  • Operating Copy/Printer machine (e.g. photocopying and faxing)
  • Mail distribution (e.g. pick-up, sorting, and dissemination)
  • Assist with departmental/office projects
  • Other similar duties as assigned
Test Proctor:
  • Monitors test environment during the administration of examinations
  • Enforces time limits and compliance with other examination procedures
  • Explains, and answers questions and/or concerns related to examination procedures and similar matters
  • Other similar duties as assigned


Student Ambassador:
Perform clerical and administrative duties, including but not limited to:
  • Make phone calls
  • Assist with recruitment and campus tours
  • Prepare folders
  • Answer general admissions question(s) for perspective students
  • Other similar duties as assigned


Lab Tech Assistant:
o Assist in the preparation, set-up, and clean-up of laboratory activities and experiments
o Perform minimum clerical and administrative duties, including but not limited to:
  • Making copies for faculty
  • Retrieve and/or deliver mail
  • Other similar duties as assigned


Learning Center Assistant:
o Clarifying specific course content
o Model appropriate study strategies
o Assist students to become independent learners
o Perform clerical and administrative duties, including but not limited to:
  • Greet students and visitors
  • Check students in for their appointment(s)
  • Answering office phones
  • Filing paperwork
o Restocking office equipment
o Other similar duties as assigned

Athletic Team Attendant:
  • Gather sport(s) equipment
  • Set up practice
  • Time and/or score keeping
  • Video recording game(s) and/or practice(s)
  • Maintain and service hydration station
  • Other similar duties as assigned by the coaching staff


Student Coordinator:
o Event preparation for varies extracurricular events included but not limited to:
  • Theater/production - set up and break down
  • Campus life and leadership - set up/break down
  • Capable of physical movement and lifting up to 10lbs
  • Other similar duties as assigned


Minimal Qualifications:
Required:
  • Currently enrolled as an MCC student with the following minimum credit hours:
    • Fall: 6 Credit Hours
    • Spring: 6 Credit Hours
    • Summer: 3 Credit Hours

  • Completed FAFSA
  • Willing to work at an approved off-campus site

$16.00 per hour
