Electrical engineers (EE) are responsible for all aspects of electrical design from inception to delivery of the product. EEs work closely with other engineers, program management, quality, partners, and the customers to ensure Wilcox stays on the leading edge of technology and innovation while ensuring the team is delivering a product that customer can trust their life with. This is an on-site role. 

Wilcox is a vertically integrated engineering and manufacturing company with a goal to do as much design, testing, manufacturing, and assembling in house as possible. Because of this, candidates must have a strong technical skillset with the ability to interface with all departments throughout the company on a daily basis.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Translate functional specifications and product requirements to detailed electrical specifications.

  • Provide electrical engineering design, engineering, and prototyping support throughout all stages of the product development process.

  • Generate electrical schematics, specify components, and lay out printed circuit boards (PCBs).

  • Validate electrical systems through analysis, simulation, and testing. Conduct failure mode analysis on electrical systems.

  • Contribute to the development of detailed interface control documents.

  • Develop work packages for PCB subcontractors. Support onsite supplier quality audits and interface with subcontractors as required.

  • Lead or assist in troubleshooting products throughout all phases of the product lifecycle.

  • Communicate the status of assigned work including current progress, estimated time to completion, risks, and any required software, equipment, tools, etc. necessary to accomplish assigned work.

  • Contribute to development and maintenance of statements of work, budgets, schedules, and risk assessments.

  • Work with the Program, Verification and Validation team, and Cross Functional Engineering Teams on complex designs. 

  • Develop test procedures to support all phases of the product lifecycle.

  • Contribute innovation ideas for product development and process improvement efforts.

  • Perform other duties as necessary when directed to do so to support business needs. 

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

  • Must be proficient in embedded design utilizing highly efficient components for battery powered devices.

  • Must be proficient in schematic capture software, understanding of Altium a plus

  • Experience with military standards, specifically MIL-STD-461 and MIL-STD-810 a plus

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite.

  • Able to adapt to modern software and work methodologies

  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communications skills.

  • Working knowledge of oscilloscopes, power supplies, vector network analyzers and or spectrum analyzers a plus.

  • Understanding of design for signal integrity, knowledge of DDR3, ARM processors, MIPI, SPI, and I2C a plus

  • Basic scripting and data processing plus

  • Regular on-site attendance is a necessary function of this position.

  • Wilcox is a U.S. government defense contractor, and this position requires access to export-controlled technology. Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to access U.S. government-controlled technology prior to beginning work.
