Chattanooga, United States AstraZeneca Full time
At AstraZeneca we turn ideas into life changing medicines. Working here means being entrepreneurial, thinking big and working together to make the impossible a reality. We are focused on the potential of science to address the unmet needs of patients around the world. We commit to those areas where we think we can really change the course of medicine and bring big new ideas to life. Our Cardio-renal, Pulmonary and Metabolic Clinical Specialists play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients' lives. AstraZeneca's strategy in CVRMD is a patient-centric, preventative approach to chronic disease diagnosis and management, so we are solving multiple risk factors by uniting our cardiovascular (CV), respiratory (COPD), metabolic (T2D) and renal (CKD) areas into one integrated approach to improve patient clinical outcomes through preserving function and slowing progression in chronic disease. Each of our focus areas seeks to further reduce morbidity, mortality and organ damage by addressing multiple risk factors across cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, chronic kidney-disease and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease indications. The patient-centric approach is reinforced by science-led life-cycle management programs and technologies, including early research into regenerative methods. The enterprise-wide AstraZeneca US BioPharma Primary Care Team plays a fundamental role to ensuring a comprehensive view of patient care and customer engagement within our Cardiovascular Metabolic Disease (CVMD) and Respiratory therapeutic areas.

  • Partner with health system/clinic leadership to better understand quality programs and initiatives, electronic medical record platforms, treatment algorithms for targeted patient populations and find ways to collaborate with the health system/clinic to identity and support opportunities and initiatives that align with both AstraZeneca's and the health system's organizational and clinical objectives.
  • Provide comprehensive product and disease state knowledge and effectively educate and engage healthcare professionals in dialogue about clinical evidence, approved indications, product efficacy and safety profiles to support on-label prescribing for appropriate patients.
