Role Description

This is a full-time hybrid role as an Application Architect at Hyniva. As an Application Architect, you will be responsible for designing and overseeing the development of software applications. This includes creating solution architectures, integrating systems, and meeting enterprise architecture standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions. While this role is primarily in San Antonio, TX, some remote work is flexible.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deep understanding of software architecture principles and patterns (e.g., microservices, monolithic, event-driven, layered architecture)
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages, Python, FastAPI, Django, TypeScript frameworks like ReactJS, Flutter
  • Understanding of security best practices, including authentication, authorization, encryption, and secure coding;
  • Strong Implementation knowledge of IdP's solutions like Okta, Azure AD, Google Workspace, and One login
  • Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools and Strong implementation of AWS cloud platforms/services
  • Define and design the application architecture blueprints, including the technology stack and frameworks. Ensure the application is robust, scalable, and secure and meets business requirements and industry standards.
  • Expertise in integration technologies and protocols (e.g., REST, SOAP, GraphQL, message queues).
  • Identify and address performance bottlenecks and optimize application performance. Ensure that the architecture supports high availability, scalability, and disaster recovery.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of the application architecture, including diagrams, specifications, and guidelines.
  • Ensure that documentation is kept up to date as the architecture evolves.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve the application architecture to enhance performance, maintainability, and scalability.
  • Evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies, platforms, and frameworks for application development. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to development teams
  • Work closely with stakeholders, including business analysts, developers, and project managers, to ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Collaborate with other architects (e.g., enterprise architects, solution architects) to ensure architectural consistency across the organization.
  • Establish and enforce coding standards, best practices, and design patterns, and conduct code reviews and architectural assessments to identify potential issues and areas for improvement.
  • Participate in project planning, estimation, and resource allocation.
  • Stay updated with emerging technologies and industry trends to ensure the architecture is future-proof

Qualifications

  • Lead joint solution/offering architecture discussions with partner architects and support development
  • Drive holistic solutions for data platforms, analytics, built cost summaries, and value propositions as part of cloud modernization and data portfolio rationalization.
  • Provide leadership for the transformation of customer requirements into visions, strategies, and roadmaps to implement data platforms, multi-cloud, and cloud data warehouse
  • Experienced with large scale technology platforms
  • Executed technology modernization initiatives, including migration to cloud-native and API Strategy
  • Current experience with AWS, APIs, accelerators, DevSecOps
  • Good understanding of security
  • Strong proven Software Engineering experience and UML diagrams
  • Organizational experience in an agile operating model
  • Strong grasp of value creation and business capability models
  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
  • Relevant certifications (e.g. TOGAF, AWS, Salesforce) are beneficial

The compensation for this position is $120,000 to $150,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications. Employees are also eligible for a performance-based bonus or to participate in a performance-based incentive plan. This position is eligible for a benefits package that includes medical, dental, and vision insurance as well as PTOs.
