As a Facility Based Care Advocate, you will be responsible for utilization review of behavioral health and substance use services. Responsibilities include review of clinical documentation for higher levels of care. Reviews clinical documentation to make medical necessity decisions and ensure quality. Primary Responsibilities: Focus on initial and concurrent reviews for higher levels of care Make patient assessments and determine appropriate levels of care Care Advocates coordinate care with providers prior to discharge from inpatient, residential and partial hospitalization levels of care Manage inpatient mental health/substance abuse cases throughout the entire episode of care Administer benefits Coordinate benefits and transitions between various levels of care Consult with facility staff on available treatment options Oversee the facility-based care experience You’ll be rewarded and recognized for your performance in an environment that will challenge you and give you clear direction on what it takes to succeed in your role as well as provide development for other roles you may be interested in. Required Qualification s: Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or Marriage or Family Counseling; or Licensed Ph.D. Active, unrestricted clinical mental health license to practice independently 2+ years of post-master’s experience in a related behavioral health environment Willing to work weekday holidays on a rotating basis, depending on business needs Preferred Qualifications: Experience in facility base care Dual diagnosis experience with mental health and substance abuse Experience working in an environment that required coordination of benefits and utilization of multiple resources Experience working with the insurance industry Knowledge of administrating benefits *All employees working remotely will be required to adhere to UnitedHealth Group’s Telecommuter Policy California, Colorado, Connecticut, Hawaii, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, Rhode Island, or Washington Residents Only: The salary range for this role is $58,300 to $114,300 annually.
