Our client is looking to bring on a Desktop Support Technician to provide essential support to end-users by addressing and resolving hardware and software issues related to personal computers (PCs). This role involves implementing procedures and maintaining PC hardware and software inventories.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Install, move, and configure PC hardware, software, and peripherals following established procedures and configurations to ensure optimal functionality and user satisfaction.
  • Execute timely equipment lease returns and refreshes to keep the technology up-to-date and functioning efficiently.
  • Work on service tickets promptly, ensuring issues are resolved to the customer's satisfaction and within the required timeframes.
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to workstations and client systems, providing effective solutions to minimize downtime and enhance user productivity.
  • Maintain accurate records of PC hardware and software inventories as directed by the Technology Support Unit Manager or project leader, ensuring resources are tracked and managed efficiently.
  • Perform all assigned tasks in a manner that optimizes departmental effectiveness, while strictly maintaining the confidentiality of all sensitive information.

Qualifications:

  • Proficiency in installing, configuring, and troubleshooting PC hardware and software.
  • Experience in managing and resolving technical issues through service tickets.
  • Strong organizational skills for maintaining accurate inventory records.
  • Ability to follow established procedures and configurations meticulously.
  • Excellent customer service skills to ensure user satisfaction.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • This position may require occasional lifting and transporting of equipment.
  • Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours may be necessary to address urgent technical issues or complete installations and configurations.
