Account Executive
A progressive Washington, DC research firm is seeking an Account Executive to join our sales team. The Account Executive understands how both qualitative and quantitative research can be leveraged to achieve research outcomes, and packages research products accordingly for clients' use. The Account Executive will expand our existing portfolio by creating relationships with clients in corporate social responsibility, ESG, and philanthropy.
Successful candidates will have experience managing multiple accounts and negotiations. They will have experience engaging executives and decision makers who commission research studies and can drive funding for research initiatives including public opinion polling for campaigns and ballot initiatives. We work closely with high-profile political organizations and candidates, so interest in electoral politics, social activism, and advocacy work is required.

- Provide sales representation to designated research pod and build a portfolio of clients to achieve sales goals
- Contribute to sales materials and maintain HubSpot CRM, including templates, sequences, playbooks and other features, to build and manage sales pipelines
- Devise sales strategy and tactics to drive sales cycle and meet goals on time
- Execute sales process while remaining compliant with sales policy and administrative SOPs; document challenges and recommend improvements
- Develop prospects by engaging marketing and sales campaigns including events and referral sources
- Create effective pitches and research proposals, collaborating with the research team for designs and pricing; this includes responding to RFPs (using PandaDoc)
- Leverage company's differentiators and value propositions - in our research, data, and services and products - to win prospects and retain existing clients
- Effectively negotiate and close deals while managing risk and maximizing value for both the company and the client
- Strategically package research, upsell and leverage discount programs to create value for clients
- Coordinate with research operations to properly match research managers with prospects
- Guide client intake and on-boarding to ensure effective handoff to research team
- Engage clients during research engagements to drive satisfaction and loyalty, evidenced by repeat business and long-term accounts
- Collaborate with marketing, communications and research to identify research opportunities among organizations that can help us advance our research and data portfolio
- 2-3 years of professional experience in outbound sales including client development
- Experience in the following sectors: public opinion, market research, political campaigns and organizations, social advocacy
- Professional work experience in research sales, data and/or analytics software sales
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 and HubSpot
- Bachelor's degree in business or other field
- Proficiency with Slack and Asana
- Annual salary range: $90,000 + 0.5% commission for $165,000 OTE
- Unlimited vacation and sick days
- Health care with 80% of premiums paid by HIT Strategies capped at $300 monthly
