We are hiring for a Vice President, Innovation. The Vice President of Innovation will be responsible for driving the company's innovation strategy, ensuring the continuous development of new products, processes, and technologies that align with our business goals. This role requires a forward-thinking leader with a strong background in the food and snack industry, a deep understanding of consumer trends, and the ability to foster a culture of creativity and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Leadership
  • Develop and implement the company's innovation strategy in alignment with overall business objectives.
  • Identify and evaluate new market opportunities, trends, and technologies to drive growth and competitive advantage.
  • Collaborate with the executive team to integrate innovation initiatives with business strategies.
Product Development
  • Lead the development and launch of new snack products from concept to commercialization.
  • Have expertise in managing Stage Gate process or similar, with proven results leading a multifunctional team to commercialize Innovation initiatives in time and specifications.
  • Oversee the innovation pipeline, ensuring a steady flow of breakthrough ideas and products.
  • Work closely with R&D, marketing, and operations teams to ensure product feasibility, scalability, and market fit.
Market and Consumer Insights
  • Conduct market research and analysis to understand consumer needs, preferences, and behaviors.
  • Use consumer insights to guide product development and innovation initiatives.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes impacting the snack industry.
Team Leadership and Development
  • Build and lead a high-performing innovation team, fostering a culture of creativity, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Mentor and develop team members, providing guidance, feedback, and professional growth opportunities.
  • Promote cross-functional collaboration to enhance innovation processes and outcomes.
Partnerships and Collaboration:
  • Establish and maintain strategic partnerships with external stakeholders, including suppliers, academic institutions, and industry organizations.
  • Leverage external networks and resources to enhance the company's innovation capabilities.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, events, and forums.
Financial and Performance Management:
  • Manage the innovation budget, ensuring efficient allocation of resources to high-impact projects.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to innovation and product development.
  • Ensure that innovation initiatives deliver measurable business results and return on investment (ROI).
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in innovation, product development, or R&D leadership roles within the food and snack industry.
  • Proven track record of successful product launches and market introductions.
  • Strong understanding of consumer insights, market trends, and competitive dynamics in the snack industry.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, both to communicate with Top Management, or internal / external partners, including all of the Commercial / Operational areas
