POSITION TITLE: Level II Technician, CAD
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt

POSITION OVERVIEW:

ADB is seeking a Level II Technician, CAD to provide CAD drawing and support within our OSP Engineering division. This is an experienced level role that will provide CAD drawing, design, and verification functions for various OSP utility construction projects within a market. The ideal candidate will be customer and quality focused, have a high level of attention to detail, with a strong work ethic and ALL IN attitude.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Creates mid-level CAD drawings and details given by the OSP Engineering team to support various ISP/OSP utility construction projects in adherence to their local municipality requirements
  • Verify CAD design data against GIS system, ensure quality in both, make corrections when needed
  • Makes revisions on CAD drawings (red lines) provided by Engineers or CAD Lead
  • Creates base mapping of existing surface features to accurately display field conditions
  • Utilizes existing PDF utility plans to map out existing utility infrastructure
  • Interprets the completed redlines from construction vs. the original design to create a closeout package
  • Independently create an entire construction ready drawing set that encompasses quantities and Bill of Materials
  • Modifies and updates design routes with the assistance of Design Engineers/CAD Lead
  • Research and map Right of Way data for construction routes, including existing easement locations
  • Create specialty permit drawings including railroads, bridge attachments, and core of engineer crossings
  • Create plan and profile drawings for jurisdiction permitting requirements
  • Provides training and support to Entry level CAD techs
  • Ability to read and interpret utility construction drawings and prints
  • Provides regular updates to Engineering trackers within various Software on daily production
  • Collaborates with team mates on daily workloads and assignments regularly
  • Performs other position duties as requested by leadership

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers, copy/fax, and smartphones.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
  • 2-3+ years of CAD experience within the telecommunications industry required
  • Associates degree in Computer Aided Drafting preferred but not required
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
