Job Description:

The Fly-Away Support Engineer, you will provide technical support (SME) to Patriot Systems deployed worldwide as required to meet customer needs on short notice.

This technical support shall be either in person or telephonically (reach back capability). Travel shall be approximately 50% to support of the Patriot Missile Systems during units' scheduled rotation or at their home station. The Fly-Away Engineer shall interface with a variety of customers at all levels (Government and Military) to help resolve technical problems as needed and work with Systems Engineers and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to improve fielded test procedures/processes as identified.

The Fly Away Engineer shall normally work in a Patriot Test Facility in Andover, Massachusetts when not travelling to enhance system their knowledge of the PATRIOT Missile System.

Required Skills:

The Fly Away Engineer should have a minimum of 3 years of experience and/or familiarity With the Patriot Missile System. Knowledge and functions of the Patriot Missile System with the focus on Patriot radar set test specifications, system performance requirements, and Patriot system operations. Strong interpersonal communication skills with the program leadership team and our customer the United States Army.

This position requires an active and in-scope Secret US Security Clearance.

Desired Skills:

Strong interpersonal communication skills with the leadership team and external customers. Experience in building and leading high-performing and diverse teams, and a demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative fashion with these teams. Also, should be able to show a demonstrated ability to lead by influence and collaboration, and to work effectively in a fast paced, dynamic environment with time constraints. May have broad knowledge of project management. With knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems to provide enhancements within job area.

Required Education:

Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and 3 years of relevant experience OR an associate degree and 5 years of relevant experience OR a relevant advanced degree and 7 years of experience. A relevant PhD can account for 5 years of experience as required for this role. In absence of a degree, 10 years of relevant experience is required. Experience with Patriot System Operations, specifically Patriot Radar (3 years) and experience with the standard test equipment utilized to troubleshoot the Patriot system is required.

Requires advanced knowledge of work area typically obtained through advanced education combined with experience. May have practical knowledge of project management. Practical to substantial knowledge of RTX projects, programs or systems with the ability to make enhancements and leverage in daily work.

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, location, education/training, and key skills. Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company's performance.
