- Permanent full-time position with benefits.
- Position is Middle Shift, Monday through Friday (2:00 PM to 10:30 PM).
- Must possess commercial/industrial HVAC knowledge and skills with certifications or license in kind, with accompanying knowledge in diversified maintenance skills, such as electrical, plumbing, masonry, and carpentry, is a plus.
REPORTS TO: Supervisor of Facilities or Designee
JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for all maintenance and repairs of Facilities and entities thereof. Including but not limited to Carpentry, HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Masonry and other mechanical equipment as directed or assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possesses High School Diploma or Equivalency
- Assures compliance with Employment Eligibility, Criminal History Record, Pre-Employment Drug Testing, and Physical Examination/TB Test Standard
- Minimum of three (3) years of experience in school, commercial or industrial facilities maintenance and repair, required
- Possesses strong working knowledge in diversified maintenance skills, such as HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical, Masonry, and Carpentry
- Knowledge of operation of heavy equipment, preferred.
- Possesses strong oral and written communication skills
- Possesses interpersonal skills including tact, patience and courtesy
- Possesses ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
- Exercises courtesy and good judgment in dealing with staff, students, parents, and the public
- Possesses a valid driver's license and acceptable ten-year driving history; must maintain acceptable driving record throughout employment
The position holder must be able to perform the essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. It is the responsibility of the employee to inform the NASD of any and all reasonable accommodations that will be required.
- Repairs, replaces and maintains physical structures of the building, interior and exterior; performs necessary diagnostics to facilitate repairs to critical components including but not limited to machinery, plumbing, electrical wiring and fixtures, and heating and air conditioning systems not covered by contracted services
- Writes maintenance supply requisitions, reports, and documentation associated with specific trades, and gets same approved by the Supervisor of Facilities or designee
- Completes assigned work orders, maintains work record of completed tasks
- Assures ability to climb ladders; erects and climbs scaffolding, and utilizes other equipment provided, to work at heights up to and exceeding 50 feet
- Possesses ability to operate various types of vehicles - automatic, manual transmission, etc.
- Possesses ability to operate equipment provided by the district to properly maintain the building and grounds including grass trimming, mowing, field line painting and snow removal
- Removes snow and ice from sidewalks, driveways, and parking lots; pulls weeds and trims hedges, and bushes, and cuts grass
- Repairs and assembles chairs, tables and other furnishings
- Completes assigned work orders; maintains work record of completed tasks
- Maintains regular and timely attendance
- Performs necessary diagnostics and settings for computerized Energy Management System (DDC)
- Performs painting services
- Sets up and dismantles rooms, tables, chairs, etc for events, activities and meetings in the buildings, if needed
- Attends meetings and training as assigned
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Possesses ability to understand directions and instructions in order to perform duties
- Possesses endurance to perform job requirements
- Possesses ability to lift, carry, push and pull a weight of 50 lbs
- Possesses ability to lift a weight of 25lbs to shoulder height or above
- Possesses ability to stoop and bend in order to operate equipment
- Possesses ability to walk, and/or stand eight (8) hours per day
