Registered Nurse: Critical Care Float Pool

Join a dynamic team in the Critical Care Float Pool at a Level I trauma center and gain critical care skills in multiple areas, including Neuro-Surgical Trauma ICU, Medical ICU, Coronary Care Unit, Cardiovascular ICU, and the MSICU.
This role offers a competitive hourly rate and the opportunity to gain additional competencies in Emergency Department care and neuro-progressive care areas. As a Clinical Nurse II, you will contribute to a compassionate environment for patients, families, and colleagues through active listening and kindness.
Responsibilities:
- Implement physician orders, administer medications, start IVs, perform treatments and procedures, and document treatment
- Assess and evaluate patient needs, apply sound nursing judgment in patient care management decisions
- Provide primary and emergency care for occupational and non-occupational injuries and illnesses
- Collaborate with the nursing team to create a Plan of Care for all patients
- Direct and guide ancillary personnel and maintain standards of professional nursing
Qualifications:
- Graduate of a professional academic nursing program with a Diploma, Associate Degree, or Baccalaureate Degree
- Current NYS Registered Nurse license and certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Minimum of 1-3 years of previous clinical RN experience in Med-Surg or Progressive Care
- Excellent communication, prioritization, organizational, and time-management skills
- Knowledge of quality concepts, principles, and problem-solving tools and techniques
