These grant-funded positions work at our afterschool program sites located OFF the Ohio University Campus. You will be required to provide your own transportation. These sites may include:
Alexander Elementary School in Albany, Ohio (Shifts are 2:30 pm to 6:00 pm)
Alexander Jr/Sr High School in Albany, Ohio (Shifts are 2:30 pm to 6:00 pm)
Belpre Elementary School in Belpre, Ohio (Shifts are 2:15 pm to 6:00 pm)
Belpre High School in Belpre, Ohio (Shifts are 3:00 pm to 6:45 pm)
Eastern Elementary/High School in Reedsville, Ohio (Shifts are 2:15 pm to 5:45 pm)
Federal Hocking Secondary School in Stewart, Ohio (Shifts are 2:45 pm to 5:15 pm)
Meigs Primary/Intermediate School in Middleport, Ohio (Shifts are 2:45 pm to 6:15 pm)
Meigs High School in Pomeroy, Ohio (Shifts are 2:45 pm to 6:15 pm)
Millcreek Elementary in Corning, Ohio (Shifts are 3:00 pm to 5:30 pm)
Nelsonville-York Elementary in Buchtel, Ohio (Shifts are 3:00 pm to 6:15 pm)
Nelsonville-York High School in Buchtel, Ohio (Shifts are 2:15 pm to 5:45 pm)
Successful applicants will be required to pass a newly run background check and physical exam. Physical exams are at applicants own expense.

Job Description

Work with our AMAZING kids and staff Afterschool Team Leaders perform a variety of program activities, including:
1. Help deliver engaging, hands-on activities to children and teenagers in the afterschool programs. Activities include snack, recess, reading/ELA, STEAM, recreation, social-emotional learning, etc.
2. Assist children/teens with academic work.
3. Monitor child/teen progress toward stated goals under the direction of supervisor.
4. Provide a safe and inclusive environment where children/teens can learn and grow.

Successful applicants are expected to provide their own transportation to and from the job site, which is located OFF CAMPUS. (See Special Instructions to Applicants for locations.)

Minimum Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years old.

Must upload high school diploma or GED with application as "Other Required Document."

Must be a currently enrolled university student (any university).

Must be able to work at least two shifts per week (Monday through Friday), although more availability is preferred. See Work Schedule for shifts.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience working with children and/or teens.

Work Schedule

Hours vary by site, but are usually 2.5 to 3 hour shifts, between 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm, Monday through Friday.
Anticipated site specific hours are:
Alexander Elementary School - (10 minute commute from Athens): 2:30 pm - 6:00 pm, Monday - Friday.
Alexander Jr/Sr High School - (10 minute commute from Athens): 2:30 pm - 6:00 pm, Monday - Thursday.
Belpre High School - (50 minute commute from Athens): 3:15 pm - 6:45 pm, Monday - Thursday - due to extended commute, employees may be paid for travel time.
Belpre Elementary School - (50 minute commute from Athens): 2:15 pm - 6:00 pm, Monday - Friday - due to extended commute, employees may be paid for travel time.
Eastern Elementary/High School - (50 minute commute from Athens): 2:15 pm - 5:45 pm, Monday - Friday - due to extended commute, employees may be paid for travel time.
Federal Hocking Secondary School (20 minute commute from Athens): 2:45 pm - 5:45 pm, Monday - Thursday
Millcreek Elementary School (50 minute commute from Athens): 3:00 pm - 5:30 pm, Monday - Thursday - due to extended commute, employees may be paid for travel time.
