Job Description
Job Title: Mammographer

Job Specialty: Diagnostic Imaging - Mammography

Job Duration: 13 weeks

Shift: Days (4x10)

Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours

Experience: 1 year of experience preferred; experience in healthcare is preferred

License: American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) with Mammography (M) required

Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Documentation of Mammography training as per Radiologic Technologists regulation 21 CFR 900.12(a)(2)
- Documentation of Digital Mammography training as per Radiologic Technologists regulation 21 CFR 900.12(a)(2)
- Documentation of Tomosynthesis Mammography training as per Radiologic Technologists regulation 21 CFR 900.12(a)(2)

Must-Have:
- Computer/typing skills necessary for online learning, access to forms and policies, and benefits enrollment within 90 days
- Working knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking

Job Description:
- Demonstrate knowledge of breast anatomy, pathological conditions, and safe administration of radiation.
- Identify and review patient requisitions for consistency with clinical diagnosis and demographic information.
- Have working knowledge of all mammography and stereotactic equipment, examinations, and protocols.
- Conduct and document quality control to ensure equipment is within safe limits per guidelines.
- Clearly communicate and educate patients before, during, and after breast imaging procedures.
- Review and perform breast imaging for technical accuracy and present examinations to the radiologist.
- Schedule breast imaging appointments to ensure quality and continuity of patient care.
- Assist with department workflow management and ensure proper patient charge.
- Organize, monitor, and order medical supply inventory effectively.
- Promote breast health education through organizational events.
- Participate in the orientation of new employees and healthcare professionals.
- Maintain 24 CEU credits every two years and stay current with CPR certification.
- Role model the principles of a Just Culture and Organizational Values.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Compliance with HIPAA is mandatory.
- Required to work with adolescence (13-17 years), young adult/adult (18-64 years), middle-aged adults (65-79 years), and geriatric (80+ years).
