Apply today if this position sounds like the perfect fit for your interests and talents DESCRIPTION OF WORK As a Medical Records Assistant, you will be responsible for preparing, classifying, and abstracting medical reports for SCI Huntingdon. Your duties will include creating medical records for individual inmates, filing medical reports in inmate medical records, compiling all inmate medical records for transfer, and assisting in medical data entry. Utilizing your strong attention to detail, you will review records for completeness, accuracy, and compliance. Inadequate records will be referred to health care staff for corrections. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment (37.5 hours per week) Work hours are 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch. Salary:Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $39,785.00 (before taxes). REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of clerical experience in a medical records department of a hospital, or ambulatory acute medical care setting or a licensed nursing facility, which has included six months of experience under the general direction or oversight by a registered Medical Records Technician or Administrator; and graduation from high school; or Graduation from a medical secretarial or medical records program; or Any equivalent combination of experience and training. Other Requirements: Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required. You must meet the PA residency requirement.
