Responsibilities:
- Active involvement in the software engineering lifecyle that includes design, development, test and implement data-centric applications and provide application support.
- Write computer programs to store, locate, retrieve documents, data and information.
- Design, develop, and maintain Data/ETL validation scripts to enable data-driven insights
- Identify and implement enhancements to existing ETL processes
- Work with clients to design, build, assembly and configure applications including the technical data architecture components as per technical and business specifications
- Collaborate with data scientists, data architects, and other stakeholders to ensure successful data engineering projects
- Lead "Big Data" migration or consolidation projects for various clients
- Review and develop test data scripts based on ETL mapping artifacts and other technical documentation.
- Execution and detailed analysis of test data scripts
- Defines and tracks quality assurance metrics such as defects, defect counts, test results and test status.
- Documents all problems and assists in their resolution.
- Write/edit and test macros, scripts, parsers, and small programs to process, load or analyze data, and perform configuration management before entering into a production baseline
- Provide technical support and troubleshooting for data engineering projects
- Ensure data quality and accuracy
- Stay up-to-date with the latest data engineering and ETL development techniques and technologies
- Monitor data usage to ensure compliance with applicable data privacy regulations
- Create and maintain technical/development documentation
Requirements
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT or related with at least 9 years of experience in software engineering and testing backend applications primarily involving complex SQL queries.
Required Qualifications
- 10 to 1 5 years of relevant work experience in testing backend application primarily involving complex SQL queries
- At least 10 years' experience in:
- Testing "Big Data " and Enterprise Data warehouse
- Writing and Executing complex queries in SQL
- Experience in analyzing ETL mapping (STTM) documents
- Writing and Executing ETL scripts and Stored Procedures
- Development of SQL scripts based on ETL mapping and database documents to validate data inputs and compare data outputs
- Using tools such as Informatica (PowerCenter)
- Integration testing - Services, ETL, Database (SQL/Oracle ) - covering DML Validations, Batch Monitoring etc.
- Knowledge of PostgreSQL
- Cloud databases (AWS /Redshift/Snowflake)/Relational databases
- Experience in working with critical Financial Applications
- Advanced level of expertise in Database testing (data cleansing, transforming, mapping, data validation) with excellent PL /SQL skills
- Ability to create and execute test plans, strategies and test cases for applications that use ETL components
- Experience with large-scale (terabytes) database development, large-scale file manipulation, data modeling, data
Critical Skills
- Ability to work on multiple assignments simultaneously and produce high quality products
- Very good communication skills
- Strong problem solving and analytical skills demonstrated by the ability to assimilate new information, understand complex topics and arrive at sound analysis and judgment
