Hydraulic Engineer

We're looking for aHydraulics Design Engineer to support the development of Transportation Projects.Responsibilities will include the design and analysis of open and closed storm drainage systems for linear transportation projects, hydraulic culvert/bridge design, and permitting.The desired candidate can also develop erosion and sediment pollution control design plans, as well as abilities to supplement design efforts of the overall civil/highway group.

Location

This position will report to our Raleigh office at least 3 days a week. Other days will be worked remotely.

The Impact You Will Have
  • Perform hydrology/hydraulic analysis for the design and construction of transportation projects
  • Perform stormwater management system and pond design
  • Provide fieldwork assistance to verify existing site conditions
What You Will Need
  • Must have a minimum of eight (8) years of technical design of transportation projects
  • B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or related disciplinerequired
  • PE required; ability to obtain North Carolina PE
  • MicroStation, GEOPAK drainage, and HEC-RAS experience
  • Experience developing deliverables per NCDOT standards and requirements (including BSR/CSR) is preferred
  • Experience in erosion and sediment pollution control design (NCDOT Level III Certification a plus)
  • Working knowledge of NCDOT Guidelines for Drainage Studies and Hydraulic Design
  • Working knowledge of the FHWA Hydraulic Design Manual
  • Experience working in a multi-disciplinary engineering environment
  • Ability to work and collaborate in a team environment on challenging projects
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in written form
  • Develop task deliverables in a complete and reviewable manner
