Responsible for assembling/disassembling industrial grade electrical switchgear and creating custom enclosures and buss work per customer specs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Setup, program, and run metal working machines

· Material handling and organization

· Print reading

· Problem solving

· Build individual and low production run parts

· Assemble/disassemble electrical switchgear

· Create custom enclosures and buss work per customer specs.

· Build prototypes and test products

· Cut and weld metal.

· Choose correct insulation and properly install over buss.

· Rack breakers in and out of cubicles and know correct interlock positions.

May be modified from time to time. Other duties, tasks and work may be assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous knowledge/experience as a fabricator or other similar skilled trade desired not required.
  • Strong mechanical and construction aptitude and troubleshooting/problem solving skills
  • Ability to read common measurement tools (tape, scale, calipers, etc.)
  • Must own and use your own mechanics tools. Specialty tools provided
  • Deadline and detail-oriented is a MUST
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment as part of a team or individually
  • Able to work with shop technicians and engineering to create structures and parts
  • Willingness to learn.
  • Experience with welding desired, not required.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Strong electrical skills.

  • Strong mechanical skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and excellent attention to detail.

  • Clear written and verbal communications.

  • Organize and write procedures in a logical/methodical manner.

  • Good time management skills; be able to multi-task

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • High school Diploma or equivalent required

  • Welding: 1 year (Preferred)

  • Construction: 1 year (Preferred)

  • Electrical: 1 year (Preferred)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Occasional sitting, reaching/working overhead, climbing or balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching or crawling
  • Frequent walking
  • Continuous standing and repetitive hand motion
  • Frequent overhead/ladder work.
  • Lifting requirements include frequent lifting of up to 50 lbs, frequent lifting of up to 25 pounds and continuous lifting of up to 10 pounds.
