The engineer - renewable generation provides technical work in the planning, designing, procurement and construction of additions, changes or maintenance to MidAmerican Energy Company's renewable units. The engineer may participate in the direction of work for wind engineer, contractors and field personnel.
Responsibilities
Provide engineering services for the planning, design and construction of project additions or maintenance to MidAmerican Energy Company's renewable units. Services include development and implementation of OEM specific reliability analysis, forecasting metrics, performance reports and accuracy validation. (55%)
Provide technical project management for certain phases of a project including scheduling, design, estimates, engineering specifications, drawings, materials procurement, construction contracts, cost tracking and project cost projections. (15%)
Prepare oral and written reports. (15%)
Provide engineering assistance to other departments. (10%)
Attend training in designated areas. (5%)
Perform additional responsibilities as requested or assigned. (0-5%)
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited institution.
Three or more years of industry experience as a practicing engineer for the engineer II role.
Five years of industry experience as a practicing engineer, and must be a licensed PE for the senior engineer role. If no PE license then must have eight or more years as a practicing engineer.
Experience preferably in power generation or renewable energy.
High level of technical knowledge, judgment and capability in the engineering discipline.
Broad analytical skills. Advanced project management skills. Effective analytical and problem-solving skills. Ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
Effective verbal and written communication skills. The ability to work effectively with people of different backgrounds.
