Assists with all aspects of duty in department, including cleaning and reprocessing instruments as needed. The R.N. ensures that quality care is provided in an efficient and safe manner, consistent with the mission, philosophy and goals of the unit and organization; remaining flexible to changing systems; is expected to demonstrate quality and effectiveness in work habits and clinical practice; and treat staff, physicians, patients and families with consideration and respect. Supports the medical and multidisciplinary plan of care, as well as the objectives of the hospital. Refer significant information or concerns to the Preop/PACU/Float Manager or Director of Surgical Services. The R.N. is flexible in staffing each intradepartmental area within Surgical Services to meet the needs of the department. The R.N. is a graduate from an approved school of nursing and is currently licensed to practice in the state of Kentucky, and holds a current CPR, ACLS, and PALS card. Job Requirements Minimum EducationAssociates Degree - RequiredBachelors Degree - PreferredKY Nursing License or equivalentKentucky RN state licensure or compact licensure required Required SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
