SUMMARY

The People Resource Coordinator – Training Focal will be responsible for enhancing employee competencies and proficiencies across the company through a range of training programs. This role requires a thorough understanding of human resources, safety, and benefits, and involves providing support and customer service to all employees. The position focuses on developing and delivering broad training scopes, including soft skills, business processes, and safety-related training.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote and elevate the competency, proficiency, and knowledge levels of all employees through various training methods, including teaching, lecturing, presenting, and demonstrating. Training will cover soft skills, business processes, and safety-related topics.
  • Develop and implement a competency management framework, identifying key skills and proficiency levels required for various roles within the company to ensure employees meet and maintain necessary standards.
  • Collaborate with department leaders to set training goals and ensure compliance with training plans; plan and execute training sessions to address departmental and company needs.
  • Design targeted training programs to address identified competency gaps and support continuous professional development.
  • Facilitate new employee onboarding by conducting orientation training that includes general policies, benefits briefings, and safety-related instruction.
  • Develop, design, and deliver comprehensive training materials, including manuals, presentations, and assessments, both in formal classroom settings and ad-hoc environments such as on the production floor.
  • Generate and maintain curriculum in compliance with applicable regulations, including, for example, labor laws, FAA regulations, and OSHA standards.
  • Regularly review and update course materials to ensure accuracy, currency, and relevance.
  • Assess trainee performance through various evaluation methods, including written tests, hands-on assessments, and other measures to gauge training effectiveness.
  • Schedule and coordinate training sessions and / or on-the-job training (OJT) to align with production schedules and budget constraints.
  • Document all training activities in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Produce and analyze metrics and reports to evaluate the effectiveness and performance of the training program.
  • Ensure that training is conducted in a safe working environment; incorporate safe work practices into the curriculum; ensure all training sessions comply with departmental and company standards.
  • Assist in the annual planning and budgeting process for the People Group.
  • Research and implement new instructional methods, tools, and technologies to improve training efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Evaluate third-party training vendors and programs, monitoring their performance, budget adherence, and compliance.
  • Contribute to research and grant writing efforts as needed.
  • Promote and enforce adherence to company policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Complete initial and recurrent training requirements in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the minimum knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Training and Development, Education (Adult Education or Corporate Training Focus), or related field preferred; high school diploma required.
  • 2 to 5 years of related work experience; preferably experience in instructional design, and training development and delivery, with a strong understanding of management, safety, and compliance requirements.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to develop engaging training materials and curricula.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple training initiatives concurrently.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements related to labor laws, FAA, and OSHA.
  • Proficiency in using training software and tools.
  • Experience evaluating training effectiveness and vendor performance.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various departments and stakeholders.
  • Effective computer skills; Microsoft Office software and other company and discipline specific software applications.
  • Must be detail oriented with the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability and willingness to work extended hours, when needed.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

  • Read, write and understand the English language.
  • Ability to read, write, analyze, and interpret procedural manuals, policies, and regulatory guidance.
