About This Job
Air and Space Force Solutions, a business unit within BAE Systems, has an opening for an Atlassian Dept. Manager at our Hill Air Force Base, Utah location. The selected candidate will join our Information Services team and have an important role in supporting our mission of Strategic Deterrence through continual improvement and innovation. The position will have the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage the Atlassian Department, overseeing daily operations and ensuring team alignment with company goals
  • Coach and mentor team members, promoting professional growth and skill development
  • Develop and implement strategic plans for the effective use of Atlassian tools across the organization
  • Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and accountability within the team.
  • Own, develop, manage, and support the Atlassian suite of products
  • Oversee the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of Atlassian products (JIRA, Confluence, etc.)
  • Migrate incidents and workflows from multiple existing tools to Jira
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance team productivity and efficiency
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate Atlassian tools into workflows and projects.
  • Collaborate with quality assurance, technical teams, and management to implement systems features that enable Agile software delivery
  • Recommend and design standard and custom Jira workflows
  • Install, manage and support various development tools, testing tools and monitoring tools
  • Plan, evaluate, deploy, operate and maintain tools to suit the expanding user base
  • Provide training to technical and non-technical teams/users on Atlassian tools
  • Investigate, troubleshoot and fix issues related to development, applications, application servers
  • Recommend and set up Atlassian plugins
  • Adhere to industry best practices, processes, standards, and metrics
  • Document standards, guidelines and standard operating procedures for admins/users of the system
  • Set access permissions for Jira projects and Confluence spaces
  • Develop and maintain project plans and action item lists, and conduct regular customer status meetings to keep projects and actions on track
  • Demonstrated experience with Jira filters, reporting, dashboards, workflows, fields, and Jira administration
  • Ability to construct custom dashboards using various filter types in Jira
  • In-depth knowledge and experience with day-to-day Jira functionality
  • Implement approved system security policies to include the configuration of user access and permission across a variety of systems
  • Monitor application status; support application event triage, monitoring, tracking, correlation and event characterization and escalation
  • Work with vendors as needed for event resolution, and follow up with customers to ensure issues have been resolved
  • Provide technical assistance, training and system documentation for users to promote efficient operation of applications
  • Perform other duties as assigned
