Job Description
Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Newborn Care

Experience: Minimum of 3 years
License: Current RN License
Certifications: BLS, NRP, EFM (every 2 years), ACLS (preferred)
Must-Have: 3 years of experience in Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, Newborn Care

Description:
The unit is a 25-bed Labor & Delivery unit, which includes Labor & Delivery, Postpartum, and Newborn Care.
Responsibilities include circulating and providing care for newborns.
The clinician to patient ratio for Labor & Delivery is 1:2-3 for evaluations, 1:1 during active labor, and for patients on Magnesium drip or epidural.
For Postpartum, the ratio is 1:3-4.
The unit accommodates all patient populations.
The bed count includes 5 Labor & Delivery rooms, 12 Postpartum rooms, 2 Operating Rooms, 2 Recovery Rooms, and 2 Antepartum rooms with 4 beds.
The average daily census ranges from 15 to 25 mothers, babies, and labors.
The EMR system used is EPIC.
Floating is not required.
Day rotating positions are from 7 am to 7 pm, 11 am to 11 pm, and 7 pm to 7 am.
Evening and night positions are straight shifts.
Additional required certifications include BLS, NRP, and Electronic Fetal Monitoring.
